Built From Lived Experience, Not Just Theory
For Good Consultants was founded by Alia Azimi, MPP — a policy professional, nonprofit leader, and the founding Executive Director of Queer Calgary, an organization she grew from $500 to over $180,000 in revenue.
That experience taught her something most consultants never learn firsthand: what it actually feels like to run a nonprofit with limited resources, overwhelming demand, and a board that needs guidance. She saw too many organizations paying for generic advice from firms that had never operated in the sector they were advising.
For Good Consultants exists to close that gap. We bring the strategic rigor of policy consulting and the operational reality of nonprofit leadership to every engagement — so your organization gets advice that works in the real world, not just on paper.

What Guides Every Engagement
These are not aspirational statements on a wall. They are operational commitments that shape how we facilitate, advise, and deliver — every single time.
Equity by Design
We embed anti-racism and equity into the architecture of every strategy, governance framework, and program we help build — not as an afterthought, but as the foundation.
Community Voice
The people your organization serves should shape the strategies that serve them. We center lived experience in every consultation, not just professional opinion.
Legacy of Competence
We don’t create dependency. Every engagement includes knowledge transfer and training so your team can sustain the gains long after our work together ends.
Accessible Consulting
High-quality consulting should not be reserved for organizations with big budgets. Our Nonprofit Discount Program ensures financial barriers never stand between a community and the expertise it needs.
The A.C.T.I.O.N. Framework
Our proprietary consulting framework ensures equity is embedded into every phase of every engagement — from discovery and stakeholder consultation to governance design and strategic priority setting.
Anti-racist
Centering anti-racism as a structural commitment, not a checkbox. Every recommendation we make is examined through an anti-racist lens.
Centering
Centering the voices, needs, and priorities of equity-deserving communities in every strategic decision and governance structure.
Transformation
Moving beyond surface-level diversity to structural transformation — changing systems, policies, and cultures from within.
Integrated
Embedding equity across all organizational functions — governance, programs, communications, hiring, evaluation — not siloing it into a single committee or statement.
Organizational
Targeting change at the organizational level — structures, policies, and decision-making processes that outlast individual leaders.
Networks
Building interconnected networks of accountability, learning, and mutual support that sustain change across the sector, not just within a single organization.
The People Behind For Good
Our team combines deep policy expertise with hands-on operational experience in the nonprofit sector — so you get consultants who have done the work, not just studied it.

Nonprofit Discount Program
We believe high-quality consulting should be accessible to all organizations — not just large institutions with big budgets. Our Nonprofit Discount Program offers a 25% discount on all consulting services for eligible nonprofit organizations.
This is not a marketing tactic. It is a structural commitment to equity — because every community deserves access to the strategic expertise that drives meaningful, lasting change.
Ask About the Discount →“We don’t just hand you a strategy and walk away. We transfer knowledge, build internal capacity, and leave your team equipped to lead — because the goal was never to make you dependent on consultants. The goal was always to make you stronger.”
